World No. 1 Jannik Sinner has pulled out of the US Open 2025 mixed doubles event, a day after retiring from the Cincinnati Open final against Carlos Alcaraz due to illness.
Sinner was supposed to play with 10-time women’s doubles Major champion Katerina Siniakova. The duo had been awarded a wildcard and was scheduled to take on the German-Swiss pair of Alexander Zverev and Belinda Bencic in the first round in New York.
However, a few hours before the match, the schedule on the tournament website displayed that the Zverev-Bencic duo’s opponents were yet to be decided.
