Suruchi Singh and Saurabh Chaudhary on Wednesday won the mixed team bronze medal in 10m air pistol at the Asian Shooting Championship in Shymkent, Kazakhstan.
The duo had finished fifth in the qualification with 578 points, losing out on placing in the gold medal match by three points. Suruchi had a better showing of the two, accumulating 292 points which included a perfect first series. Saurabh, on the other hand, shot 286.
In the first bronze medal match, the pair had to go up against Chinese Taipei’s Liu Heng-Yu and Hsieh Hsiang-Chen. Eventually, the Indians comfortably romped home with a tally of 17-9.
Iran’s Haniyeh Rostamiyan and Vahid Golkhandan won the other bronze medal, while South Korea emerged triumphant in its gold medal match against China.
