Sanju Samson on Sunday gave a glimpse of his explosive batting as he struck a 42-ball century for Kochi Blue Tigers against Aries Kollam Sailors in the Kerala Cricket League in Thiruvananthapuram.
With his team chasing a steep 237 runs, Samson struck 14 fours and five maximums to put his team on the track to overhaul the total. Opening the batting for his side, Samson raced to a 16-ball half-century, before continuing his onslaught to reach the ton.
He was dismissed on 121 odd 51 balls but Samson’s heroics got his team a four-wicket win.
The Kerala batter’s fastest T20 century came in 2024 against Bangladesh, when he notched up a ton in 40 deliveries. It was the third-fastest century by an Indian batter. He was also the first batter to score three T20I hundreds in a calendar year.
Earlier this month, Samson was picked in India’s squad for the Asia Cup 2025 in United Arab Emirates.
