East Bengal on Friday announced that Jordanian centre-back Hijazi Maher has left the Indian Super League outfit.
The defender had joined the Red and Gold Brigade back in 2023. He went on to feature for the Kolkata club in more than 40 matches across competitions like the ISL, AFC Challenge League, Durand Cup, and Super Cup.
Last June, Maher had signed a two-year contract extension with the club but earlier this year, during the 2024-25 ISL season, a knee injury saw him sidelined since February.
The defender reportedly has joined Al-Faisaly SC, a club which plays in Jordan’s top-tier.
