Arsenal youngster Max Dowman is on the cusp of setting a new record if he features in their Champions League clash against Athletic Bilbao in Bilbao on Tuesday.
Dowman, 15, already made headlines when he became the second-youngest debutant in the Premier League, coming off the bench against Leeds United. He has also drawn praise from former England striker and Manchester United’s record goalscorer, Wayne Rooney.
“… You can see his future is so bright, he is going to have a massive future. “Everyone you speak to in football, the same name keeps coming back: Max Dowman,” Rooney told BBC.
Dowman, born in December 2009, is yet to turn 16, and should be make his debut in the Champions League in the next two months, he would become the youngest debutant in the tournament.
