Smriti Mandhana smashes fastest half-century by an Indian in women’s ODIs

India vice-captain Smriti Mandhana smashed the fastest half-century by an Indian in women’s ODIs during the third and final match of the series against Australia on Saturday at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.

The southpaw notched her fifty in just 23 balls. The previous record for the fastest fifty by an Indian in the format was held by wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh, who had reached the mark in 26 balls against New Zealand.
