The United States of America (USA) continued to dominate the World Athletics Championships as it finished on top of the medal table for the fifth-consecutive time, in the 2025 edition in Tokyo.
The U.S finished with a total of 26 medals – 16 golds, 5 silvers and 5 bronzes.
Melissa Jefferson-Wooden was the most successful American athlete in the event, winning the women’s 100m and 200m races, along with gold in the 4x100m relay.
With 11 medals, including 7 golds, Kenya finished second in the tally.
Tradition heavyweight Jamaica had a disappointing outing as it ended with just one gold, which was part of a total haul of eight medals.
