Tilak Varma wins Player of the Match in Asia Cup 2025 Final

Tilak Varma won the Player of the Match award during the Asia Cup 2025 Final at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday.

The southpaw struck an unbeaten 68 runs off 53 deliveries to anchor India to the target of 148 runs. His innings was all the more valuable to India since it lost three wickets inside the PowerPlay.

The Hyderabad batter struck crucial partnerships with Sanju Samson and Shivam Dube to take the side closer to the target.

Dube fell off the last ball of the penultimate over, leaving Tilak and India needing 10 off the final six balls. Tilak struck a six over midwicket off the second ball of the Haris Rauf over to simplify the equation. Rinku Singh struck the winning runs with two balls to spare.

“They were bowling well, mixing the pace up. I was backing my game. [It is] One of the most special knocks of my life. This is for all the Indians,” Tilak said at the post-match ceremony.
