Nepal beat West Indies by 90 runs in the 2nd T20I to complete its first-ever bilateral series win against a Test-playing nation.
A four-wicket haul from Mohammad Aadil Alam and three wickets by Kushal Burtel helped the side bowl the Windies out for 83 in the 18th over.
Rohit Paudel’s side had won its first-ever T20I match against a full member nation during the first T20I of the series in the UAE. The series win is all the more impressive considering this is Nepal’s first multi-match outing against a Test-playing nation.
Nepal had earlier beaten Afghanistan in 2014, but the latter was still an Associate Member at that time.
Ahead of the series against the Caribbean nation, Nepal had participated in the Top End T20 Series in Australia along with the Bangaldesh A and Pakistan Shaheens and a host of Australian academies and clubs.
The historic series win will be a huge boost to the Rhinos ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Asia & EAP Qualifier 2025 taking place in Al Amarat in Oman in October.
