India Under-19 stamped its superiority over Australia Under-19 with an innings and 58 runs win in the first Youth Test in Brisbane on Thursday.
Trailing the visiting side by 185 runs, the host had a mountain to climb. It resumed day three at eight for one but was bowled out for 127 in 49.3 overs.
Medium pacer Deepesh Devendran, who took five wickets in the first innings, added three more to his tally to finish with a match haul of 8/61.
Kishan Kumar, Khilan Patel and Anmoljeet Singh shared the rest of the wickets to fall as Australian batting crumbled.
India needed to bat just once in the game, thanks to a record-breaking hundred from Vaibhav Suryavanshi, and Vedant Trivedi.
The second and final Youth Test begins in Mackay from October 7.
India had blanked the host 3-0 in the preceding Youth ODI series.
