Vrinda Dinesh’s unbeaten century and disciplined bowling from spinners helped Karnataka to a 64-run win over the Shafali Verma-led Haryana side in the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy on Monday at the Captain Roop Singh Stadium in Gwalior.
Vrinda’s 118 runs off 58 balls contributed majorly to Karnataka posting 187 on the board in 20 overs, with skipper Niki Prasad scoring 34 in as many balls.
India international Rajeshwari Gayakwad and Sahana Pawar, both left-arm tweakers, picked three wickets each to restrict Haryana to 123 for eight.
Shafali, who had smacked a century in Haryana’s win against Himachal Pradesh, could only muster up 15 runs. Deeya Yadav top-scored for the losing side with 60 off 38.
