Max Verstappen gave his Formula One world title hopes a boost with victory in the US Grand Prix sprint race on Saturday after both McLaren drivers crashed out.
Championship leader Oscar Piastri was hit by Nico Hulkenberg at the first corner before spinning into his McLaren teammate Lando Norris.
Verstappen, who started on pole, took full advantage to move within 55 points of Piastri in the standings ahead of Sunday’s main race in Austin.
