Oman openers Jatinder Singh and Aamir Kaleem became just the second pair from an Associate nation to register a fifty-run partnership against India in T20Is, during the Asia Cup 2025 encounter in Abu Dhabi.
The two openers combined for a 56-run stand while chasing India’s target of 189 before Jatinder was castled by Kuldeep Yadav.
Aamir and Hammad Mirza then became the third Associate to notch a fifty partnership in the same match.
The last pair from an Associate nation to put up a 50-run stand was Afghanistan’s Asghar Afghan and Noor Ali Zadran, who combined for 68 runs in Gros Islet in 2010.
Afghanistan (five times) and Ireland (two times) have gone on to register fifty-run partnerships against India in T20Is since then but they came after both nations were awarded full member status.
