Spain and Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal and Vicky Lopez won the Kopa Trophy for world’s best under-21 male and female players, respectively at Ballon d’Or 2025 in Paris on Monday.
The 18-year-old Yamal, a forward, won the award for the second year in a row. He clinched the La Liga title with Barcelona in the 2024-25 season and also reached the UEFA Nations League final with Spain where it lost to Portugal.
The 19-year-old Lopez, an attacking midfielder, made history as she became the first female recipient of the award.
