FIFA creators Electronic Arts purchased by Saudi Arabia’s PIF

Famed gaming company Electronic Arts (EA), has been sold to a consortium that includes Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, Silver Lake, and Affinity Partners, an investment firm formed by Jared Kushner in a deal valued at close to $55 billion.

The deal is understood to be the second-largest gaming purchase behind Microsoft’s purchase of Activision Blizzard.

According to a statement on the EA website, the deal will see the consortium take over 100% of the company. Current CEO Andrew Wilson will continue in his role after the purchase.
