England won its second European Championship title after beating Spain in the Women’s EURO 2025 final at the St Jakob Park in Basel on Sunday.
The match ended 1-1 after 120 minutes, with Mariona Caldentey and Alessia Russo finding the back of the net for Spain and England respectively.
In the shootout, Spain missed three penalties which included two saves from England goalkeeper Hannah Hampton, before Chloe Kelly converted the winning penalty from the spot.
The title is also England manager Sarina Wiegman’s third consecutive Euros title after winning it in 2002 with England and with the Netherlands in 2017.
