Kerala Blasters FC signed Spanish centre back Juan Rodriguez Martinez ahead of the 2025-26 season, the club announced on Thursday.
The 30-year-old defender joins the Blasters following a campaign with CD Lugo in Spain’s Primera Federacion, where he featured in 36 matches.
Martinez progressed through the youth ranks at Racing Ferrol and has since represented several Spanish clubs, including Sporting Gijon, Gimnastic de Tarragona, San Fernando CD, SD Amorebieta, Algeciras CF, and most recently CD Lugo.
Over his professional career, he has made more than 200 appearances across Spain’s competitive leagues.
“We are delighted to welcome Juan to the team. He has extensive experience across Spain’s competitive leagues. His leadership qualities and composure make him a valuable addition to our defensive setup,” Kerala Blasters’ Sporting Director, Karolis Skinkys, said.
Martinez will join his new teammates in Goa for the club’s pre-season camp, subject to passing the medical, as Kerala Blasters intensifies preparations ahead of the Super Cup.
