New Zealand squad for England T20I series: Santner, Ravindra return from injury; full list of players

New Zealand white-ball captain Mitchell Santner and Rachin Ravindra have recovered from injury and were named in the Kiwi squad for the three-match T20I series against England, which begins in Christchurch on Saturday.

Santner had missed the recent series against Australia as he was recovering from abdominal surgery, while Ravindra had been ruled out after suffering a facial injury.

However, former skipper Kane Williamson will skip the T20Is against England, and is looking to mark his return to international cricket during the One-Day International series that will follow.

“Kane had to overcome a minor medical issue in the past month, and we agreed he needs some more time to get himself physically ready to return. He’s obviously a world-class player, and we’re hoping these two weeks will ensure he’s ready for the ODIs against England and the following tour by West Indies,” New Zealand coach Rob Walter said.

“Fresh from taking on Australia, it’s great to have another world-class team arrive on our shores. We know what an exciting brand of cricket Harry Brook and his T20 boys play, and I’m sure our guys are looking forward to meeting that challenge head on,” Walter added.

Ben Sears (hamstring), Finn Allen (foot), Adam Milne (ankle), Will O’Rourke (back), Glenn Phillips (groin), and Lockie Ferguson (hamstring), were all unavailable for selection due to injury.
