Qatar confirmed its slot at the FIFA World Cup 2026 for the second time on Tuesday after a 2-1 win against UAE at the Jassim Bin Hammad Stadium in Al Rayyan, Qatar.
The win confirmed Qatar’s place at the top of the fourth round qualifying group that also included UAE and Oman.
The 2026 tournament will mark the second time Qatar has qualified for the World Cup after it played the 2022 edition as host nation.

It becomes the seventh team from Asia to qualify for the World Cup, after Australia, Japan, Iran, South Korea, and debutants Uzbekistan and Jordan.
After beating Oman, both sides were playing a virtual knockout. UAE had a goal difference advantage and had to hold on to a draw, while Qatar had to win to make it next World Cup.
