Chennaiyin FC (CFC) has appointed former India coach Clifford Rayes Miranda as the head coach for the upcoming season of the Indian Super League (ISL) on Saturday.
Miranda will replace Owen Coyle at the helm for the Chennai-based franchise. Coyle and CFC parted ways earlier this year after the club finished a lowly 11th after bagging just 27 points from 24 matches.
Clifford is an AFC Pro Licence holder, having previously worked as an assistant coach with FC Goa, Odisha FC, and Mohun Bagan SG. During his tenure, Clifford has achieved significant success, including winning the ISL League Winners’ Shield with FC Goa and Mohun Bagan SG.
Additionally, he led Odisha FC to victory in the 2023 Super Cup and became the first-ever Indian coach to win a major trophy with an ISL club.
