What is ‘Play ON’, the sponsor on Liverpool jersey in Premier League game against Manchester United

Liverpool FC jersey is showing a different front-of-shirt logo in is Premier League 2025-26 match against Manchester United at Anfield on Sunday.

The Merseyside club is sponsored by Standard Chartered, but on this match ‘Play ON’ is takes the front of Liverpool players’ shirt. Find out why is that?

The British multinational bank and Liverpool are once again collaborating on a special initiative this year highlighting ‘Play On’ – a joint initiative designed to encourage young girls to stay involved in sport.

For select fixtures at Anfield in October, the Standard Chartered logo will be replaced with the ‘Play ON’ emblem on the players’ shirts.

What is Play ON?

The campaign aims to raise awareness of the barriers girls face in continuing sports participation and the positive impact it can have on their development and future opportunities.

Launched in 2023, Play ON addresses the issue of young girls dropping out of sport, emphasizing the wider benefits that staying active and engaged in sport can bring both on and off the pitch.
