The Apex Council of the Hyderabad Cricket Association, following an emergency meeting, announced on Thursday that president A. Jagan Mohan Rao has been suspended with immediate effect.
Jagan Mohan’s suspension follows the submission of the Vigilance and Enforcement Wing’s report to the State government regarding alleged irregularities related to ticket allocation and governance within the HCA during the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) season.
A preliminary report reportedly validated serious allegations levelled by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) against the HCA, which included intimidation, coercion, and blackmail over complimentary tickets and corporate boxes.

Along with Jagan Mohan, R. Devraj (secretary) and C.J. Srinivas Rao (treasurer) have also been suspended, following charges of fraud, cheating and misappropriation of funds, as per Rules 41(6) and 15(4)(d) of the HCA’s Memorandum of Association and Rules and Regulations (2018).
Earlier this month, the Crime Investigation Department arrested five people, including Jagan Mohan, Srinivas and CEO Suneel Kante, and a case was registered against them under Sections 465 (punishment for forgery), 468 (forgery for the purpose of cheating), 471 (using as genuine a forged document or electronic record), 403 (dishonest misappropriation of property), 409 (criminal breach of trust by public servant, or by banker, merchant or agent), 420 (cheating) read with 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code.
