Durand Cup 2025: NorthEast United salvages draw against Rangdajied; Indian Army FT beats 1 Ladakh FC

Rangdajied United FC came from a goal down to lead defending champion NorthEast United FC, only for the Highlanders to rescue a point in a 2-2 draw in their final Group E match of Durand Cup 2025 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Shillong on Monday.

Bekey Oram’s early penalty was cancelled out by Manbhakupar Iawphniaw, before Danzel Umdor put Rangdajied ahead just before halftime.

A well-worked Jairo strike in the second half ensured NEUFC remained unbeaten heading into the quarterfinals, while Rangdajied signed off its campaign with a spirited display and its first point of the tournament.

The draw saw Rangdajied pick up its first and only point of the campaign, while the Highlanders maintained their unbeaten run heading into the quarterfinals.

Earlier in the day, Indian Army Football Team produced a stirring comeback from two goals down to beat 1 Ladakh FC 4–2 in their final Group C match at the JRD Tata Sports Complex in Jamshedpur.

While the result lifted it to six points, second in group C, level with other contenders for the two best second-placed quarterfinal spots, its +2-goal difference fell short of the required, ending its campaign despite the thrilling win.
