Newcastle United has confirmed the signing of English midfielder Jacob Ramsey from Aston Villa.
Ramsey becomes Newcastle’s fourth permanent signing of the summer along with Anthony Elanga, Aaron Ramsdale, and Malick Thiaw in a frustrating transfer window. The Magpies have missed out on a number of transfer targets, while star striker Alexander Isak is seeking to leave the club.
Ramsey, an attacking midfielder, joins Newcastle from boyhood club Aston Villa. He made his first-team debut for Villa in 2020, and scored 17 times for the side.

Newcastle’s Premier League season got off to a mixed start, as it put in an impressive performance against Ramsey’s old side, but could not take advantage of an Aston Villa red card as the match ended 0-0. It will now face Liverpool on Monday, August 25.
