For the first time in its One-Day International cricket history, Australia had three players scoring hundreds in an innings as Travis Head, Mitchell Marsh and Cameron Green racked up tons during the third one-day match against South Africa in Mackay on Sunday.
Overall, this was the fifth instance of a team having three centurions in an innings in ODI cricket. South Africa has accomplished the feat thrice, while England has done it once.
Openers Head and Marsh struck hundreds and added a whopping 250 runs for the first wicket, before No. 3 batter Cameron Green smashed a 47-ball century to make it three tons for Australia in the match.
Australia went on to score 431 for two in 50 overs—its second-highest total in ODI cricket.
